May wrap-up

We had a lot of fun this May.

I celebrated my first Mother's Day with champagne and a new CAMERA!!! Chris secretly got everyone to pitch in for a new DSLR. What a surprise to open up that gift. Thank you to Chris and everyone who contributed -- I can't tell you how much fun I will have with it over the years!

Also this month, Chris' beard and hair began to resemble something we had seen before, but we couldn't quite place it....

Oh yes, the Beach Boys' Endless Summer album's artwork.

Also, maybe a slight likeness to Cat Stevens?

Um...close but no cigar.

And Jane has been having a blast

playing in JG and VV's pool,

goofing around with ol' fancy pants,

grabbing her toes,

and sticking them in her mouth,

playing in the park,

hanging out with JG,

standing on Mom,

napping in her stroller (while cleverly wrapped up in Mom's hoodie),

taking baths,

watching Dad dance (even though you can't see him, he's just off to the side putting on quite a show),

figuring out all the toys on her new activity center,

doing Teletubbie yoga,

and just being with Mom and Dad.

This is Jane's new thing, it's replaced thumb and finger sucking.

This is pretty much our day.

Just hanging around

Here are some cute shots of Jane that we took over the past few weeks. She seems to be really proud of the fact that she can now grab her toes.

She still makes her funny boo-boo lip when she's upset.

Also this month she has fallen totally in love with Chris. She just lights up around him.

Always ready to go on an outing.

Just like Dad.

Sorry this video is so dark. Our house doesn't get a lot of light in the morning (or anytime of the day for that matter).

Mariposa

Mid April we took a trip up to Mariposa to see my family and get out of San Diego for a few days. Knowing we would have to stop a lot along the way, we took the scenic route up the coast. And since we left at 4 am, Jane slept all the way through LA...

...waking up just in time for a picnic breakfast on the beach in Ventura.

She had lots of fun helping Dad drive the car.

And Mom and Dad had fun stopping in Paso Robles to do a little wine tasting.

The winery had a poodle named Merlot :-|

When we got the Mariposa Jane stayed very busy reading with Meme (who taught her how to turn book pages),

playing with her favorite cape,

going a on picnic in Hornitos with Uncle Ben,

flying,

visiting Yosemite with Babu,

where we hiked to Vernal Fall's footbridge,

and being escorted around town.

A good time was had by all.
